Sustainable Development Action Science for Sustainable Development

The Government of Canada has a strong environmental accomplishment record. We are actively working to protect and conserve the environment — both domestically and internationally — using innovative scientific and information technologies to achieve our sustainable government goals.

The Science for Sustainable Development poster series provides a snapshot of how the Canadian government, often in collaboration with partners, uses science to address environment and sustainable development issues related to the agriculture, oil and gas production, oceans, and transportation sectors. The posters also describe science and technology used to support policy and decision-making in areas, such as climate change, high-impact weather atmospheric changes caused by pollutants, and human health.
